PALOMINO UPDATE!

Things are cooking on Palomino! 90 pages into the inks, and color not far behind! This story is ending insanely badass, and I can't wait for you to read it! And just between you and me, here's a little taste.

ROMANCE IN THE AGE OF THE SPACE GOD!

Meanwhile, I am super excited to share that Romance In The Age Of The Space God, which you may remember as a free web-comic forged during the chaos of the pandemic, is finally seeing a print edition!

It is a one-shot, 44-page, magazine-size comic issue. THIS IS NOT A KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN. It is a straight pre-order (click here) and it will ship in July.

 RITAOTSG is a strange comic for and about strange times. It is cute and funny, it is sci fi and dystopian, it has political satire (fair warning, don't mean to ambush anyone), and the kind of slice-of-life that I love.  It introduces Nate, Lydia, Anya, all looking for their place in a difficult world, all profoundly human--even though they are adorable little mice. 

RITAOTSG is a little weird gem of a comic, and I hope you will give it a shot!

PALOMINO UPDATE!

Meanwhile, it's been a year since the Palomino Vol. 2 + 3 campaign, so here's an update on the series final volumes!

• The final volumes, Palomino Vol. 4 + 5 were written over the summer! (It was going to be just  4, but come on, man, I needed 5 to wrap up this story IN STYLE!) 
• I finished the pencils for both volumes last month and I've just started on inks! 
• Which is how I know that the 2 final volumes together clock in at 310 pages, which means that the entire Palomino story Vol 1-5 will be 656 pages!
   

Because we're getting close to the end of the story, it's going to be hard to post images without spoilers, but here's a fun inked panel for you!

FULFILLMENT UPDATE + FUN STUFF!

Hey all, hope this finds you well! 

First, a quick PALOMINO  2+3 fulfillment update! In short: it's good. 

•  ALL BOOKS except SILVER BOOK 2: If you've  answered your survey you should have received your copies of Palomino1, 2, 3, Silver book 1, and Rosalynd  a good while ago. If you haven't let us know!
•  SILVER BOOK 2: Of Hunters & Prey: Right on schedule! We will receive them at the end of October. I'll sign them and we'll ship them to you immediately. We've received a few advanced copies from Abrams ComicArts, so you may even be one of the few random & lucky few who receive them early! 
•  PRINTS: All 11x17 prints have already shipped. If you don't have yours, let us know. There's been a slight delay on the 17x22 prints, but they will ship this week
•  COMMISSIONS: all DONE, looking RAD, and shipping this week!
•  DIGITAL: All links should have been sent. If you've completed your survey and don't have your link, let us know.

Comics as a gift!

Reading in general--and reading comics in particular--is a very personal thing, so we tend to think of it as our own secret garden, but remember that there is no greater gift to a friend than a book you KNOW they'll love! 

So with holiday shopping  about to start (!) and Halloween literally upon us, it's a great time to get the books you need  from DARK PLANET COMICS!

More fun stuff--REELS!

On a personal note, the way to grow as an artist is to separate yourself from the work you've done--always reaching for the next project! So very rarely do I look back. However, the added bonus of the beautiful SILVER hardcover edition from Abrams is that I get to rediscover my own work--some of it I did over 10 years ago!  That inspired me to get deep into the storytelling of these comic book pages--and I'm doing it in bite-size REELS. They are fun! I call them "MAKING COMICS WITH STEPHAN". Check them out! Follow! Comment! It's all about starting a conversation! Here are the first few!

Midsummer Fulfillment Update

Hi all,

It's been a few weeks, so here's a mid-summer update on where we are with fulfillment!

Summer books + Digital books

That's Silver book 1, Rosalynd, Palomino 1, 2, 3. We're doing great! 

• If you have answered your survey (that's almost everyone), you should have received these books by now. 
• The links to all digital copies should also have been received in emails.

If any of the above are missing,  please double-check the tips from the July 5th Update. If that doesn't solve it, DM us, and we'll track down the packages.

Silver Book 2

Also doing great! As advertised, Silver Book 2 will ship end of October.  I'm happy to report that we've received a couple of advanced copies from Abrams, and these books are absolutely beautiful beyond my wildest expectations!

Prints

We should be done by now, unfortunately, our trusty printer decided to die at the worst possible time! Still, most of the prints shipped yesterday!  You should receive them in the next few days.

A handful are still in process, however, so don't panic if yours don't arrive right away. Of course,  everyone is entitled to panicking once in a while, so if you do get anxious, feel free to DM us and we'll update you on the specific status of your prints. very sorry about this delay!

Commissions

The commissions were originally scheduled for September. I had hoped to get an early July start on them, but reality asserted itself, so they are back to their original September schedule.
